Piggies..

At first glance you may think that the washer ate another sock right? Nope, Sadi has always hated socks since she was a baby, and so I began the fight to keep her toes from freezing by fighting her to keep them on. Recently however she is very content to keep one sock on, where does the other one go? Anywhere she can throw it! So I am always finding just one sock here or there or in one of her many hiding places.
As I was trying to get a picture of her cute piggies she crawled up into the camera lens and said "Cheeeeeese".

Can you hear the music?

Our kids love music, Sadi especially. She has recently come to love headphones as Uncle David introduced her to them while he was up for a visit. Kelsey gave her some more suitable for her as it makes me nervous to watch her shove those little ear buds into her ears. What do you think, maybe a little DJ in the family?
And Chase always trying to steal the show, as I am trying to take a picture of Sadi dancing he is dancing all around (well some kind of break dancing I guess)

He reminds me of that kid on the dance floor you know the uncoordinated one that you just can't look away from...Your all laughing cause you know that kid!!
Yeah, his moves were like this!

You have mail....

I got a head start on my Valentines for the kids this year. I stole this idea a little bit from Laura's blog last year. I wanted to do this last year, but our Target did not carry the mailboxes in their dollar bins...so I was ready when I saw them there this year. I used transfers to make mine. They turned out really cute, and Chase cannot wait to get his hands on his. Here is the little monkey boys... I thought monkeys was all to appropriate for Chase.
Kelsey loves Chocolate and so I found some cute Chocolate prints for hers. I tried to make them all different according to their personalities.

She is hoping to get some chocolate mail soon.
I had to do princess for the little princess. Since they are metal mailboxes it was hard to get any pictures without alot of reflection, but you get the idea.
Chase loves this side, with the prince and the dragon.
It will be fun to have them send some valentines to each other, and I also have a few surprises of my own!! But they will have to wait!

And if you can't duck and cover....Climb the wall!!!!Daddies love their little girls don't they?

An early start..

This morning seemed to start as normal or so I thought until I realized the time. Kelsey had got herself up and ready for school as always and she always comes to say goodbye to me before she catches the bus. So, as every morning I hear "goodbye Mom", and I follow with my goodbye's and have good day, and anything else I may need to remind her of. I thought it odd that Chase was not up yet, I took a few minutes to roll over and look at the clock which read 5:55.....as this is slowly registering I think to myself, how did my clock get set back? So I roll over to look at Matt's...5:55 his read as well. Kelsey left an hour early!!! I jump out of bed and grab my jacket to go get her from the bus stop, she is coming back as I go to get her.....it is pitch black outside, and she thinks she has missed the bus!! I have no idea how she did that, for her clocks are all right as well. So I met her with good news and bad...........Well, you didn't miss the bus, but you do have an extra hour to wait for it!!!

Marshmallow madness

I think this is what my sister called it. I stole this recipe from her blog. She puts a new recipe on her blog every month, great idea. I always think they sound delicious and think every month that I will try them and every month I don't. This one was too easy to pass up and I had all the ingredients already. Chase and Sadi love marshmallows, so I almost always have them on hand for a quick snack. Here is the super simple recipe:

1 pkg. canned biscuits
60 mini marshmallows
1 Tbsp. melted margarine
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

Flatten biscuits to 3 inch. around, brush with margarine, add 6 minis, and sprinkle with cinnamon. Pinch edges to seal. Bake in muffin tins 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
Wallah!! Yummy snack. The kids loved them, and yes Susan they do taste like cinnamon rolls. It was also a great counting exercise for Chase, he counted out the marshmallows for me. And the results......

Two thumbs up!!!

Favorite things

Of course we all have favorite things in life, whether they be big or small but how many of you have heard your Mom, Dad, Grandparent, etc. say I remember when you were..... and you used to love....... Well I decided to write down some of our kids favorites right now (as we all know they grow to fast and their favorite things change just as they do). I will start with little Sadi, just 16 months old. First, she loves her blankie... Not just any blankie, this blankie...it goes everywhere! She has to have this particular one to sleep with and it always leaves the crib with her in the morning and after naps. Second, she loves music. Any kind really, she loves to shake her whole body now to the music. She cannot pass up a chance to strut her stuff. And finally (I will limit it to three), she looooves Chocolate!! Grandma Denning bought each of the kids an advent Calendar for Christmas that had chocolates in, one taste and she was hooked. She would point to it and beg for Chocolate. She got more in her stocking from Santa and now all you have to do is say the word Chocolate and she will come running and yelling Chocolate!!

Onto Chase, when he loves something, he loves it for a long time!! First thing right off the bat he loves to watch t.v. and movies (I limit it to one a day), Right now his favorite is Sleeping Beauty(Sadi's new movie from Santa). He has watched it I don't know how many times! He always tells me after..Mom, this guy marries this girl, like it is a surprise every time. Second, he loves this new computer he got for Christmas. It is pretty cool, teaches letters, numbers, directions, all kinds of things. He loves it. And last but not least he loves going to McDonald's and getting a cheeseburger. He doesn't always want fries, which is fine because Sadi is more than willing to eat his. If we are even close to the vicinity of the golden arches he will say "okay we need to go shopping and then to McDonald's". Sometimes I tell him it's closed and he is content with that. How long will that last?
And now Kelsey, her tastes change fast these days. She is sooo into the Twilight books right now and is always reading. She got the first few books for Christmas and is now halfway through the third book Eclipse. What girl her age do you know who isn't in love with Edward? Next she loves listening to music on her new i-pod...sometimes she is reading and listening to her music. Finally I guess would have to be her new puffy vests. She got one for Christmas and Matt bought her another one just so we could see her in a different color...She would love to have one for every day of the week!
I'm sure all to soon they will love something new, but for now these are our favorite things.

HAPPY 2009!!

We hope you all had a Happy beginning to the New Year!! We had a fun night, just staying home. Of course Chase and Sadi had no idea what was going on until when it was bedtime they didn't have to go...that in itself was a party for them. We had lots of yummy food to eat and played music and after dinner I surprised the kids with a little sack of goodies for them to ring in the new year. I made a clock and stuck it on a paper bag, then filled it with all kinds of goodies...a party hat and noise maker, a champagne flute to fill with apple cider, confetti, poppers, cracker jacks, a candy bar, pop rocks, Chinese handcuffs, and the best part I thought was I had printed out each of their predictions they had made last year on a scroll for them to read and see if any of their predictions had happened. It was fun to see what we all predicted to happen in 2008. Some of our predictions came to be...such as Chase being potty trained, Sadi walking and talking. And some did not...such as finding alien life in the universe(that was one of Kyle's), and they would build a Target in Dayton(one of Kelsey's). We once again made family and world predictions for 2009, it is really fun to read them from years past to see what the kids think will happen. A great tradition!
After dinner and dancing around to hopefully wear out the kids to be a little tired I put on Sadi's new movie Sleeping Beauty to hopefully waste some time for the long night. I thought Sadi would sit and maybe get tired...No Chance!! Here she was the whole movie..here, there, everywhere. She was having a blast!! But after the movie and playing some games, I decided enough was enough and she went down at 10:00. She was ready!

No joke 10:15 Chase here passed out on my lap. Poor guy didn't quite make it.

Two kids who did make it to midnight and wayyyyyy beyond. The best part of my New Years, Matt let me sleep in and he got up with Chase and Sadi...shocking!! And....they brought me breakfast in bed!! So far it is the best year of my life!!
