Mother Daughter Campout

Last night Kelsey and I were able to go on a overnight Mother-Daughter camp out with the young women. It was so much fun! We went hiking, sang, ate yummy food, and just had fun! I must say it was very relaxing, I am looking forward to going again! By the way I swear she is not THAT much taller than me, we must have been on a slant!

Finally...

TOY STORY 3!!! We have been waiting for more than 2 years for this movie to come out! Ever since I was planning Chase's 3rd birthday party and we read about the making of this movie. Toy Story has been Chase's favorite movie since he was 2. We have been watching both Toy Story 1 and 2 almost weekly for the last few years (maybe that was partly my excitement, finally a new one!). I think we can all recite all the lines from the first 2 movies. FINALLY the day came to go to the movie. I must say it did not disappoint! Hilarious, and if I'm being completely honest I cried little. I won't spoil it for anyone I will just say take it from the Toy Story Expert: You gotta see this movie!!

Although she is no longer wishing for a baby doll or a pony, she is still my little miracle girl!
Happy Birthday Kelsey!

Another Grad!

I hate to be sarcastic but is their anything we don't graduate for anymore? It has become kind of nonchalant right? I had no idea the kids were going to be graduating from PRESCHOOL! Really? I was shocked when I went to pick up Chase last week and they were all in their little caps. I'm not sure if I was more surprised at the graduation or that his teacher didn't even mention doing a graduation! Anyway, I'm not going to lie it was cute! So here it is...your future 2022 grad, graduating from preschool... P.S. thought it was hilarious when we were leaving his teacher said "see you in a week Chase" (Because he will be going in the summer).

First Camping Trip!

This week we took our first camping trip this year! We tried out a new spot not to far from home, Indian creek reservoir. It was really pretty. The kids had so much fun and did not want to come home. Kelsey spent most of the first day painting rocks. She made many lizards out of rocks (they turned out pretty cool). My camera really didn't capture it to well, I really need a new camera! There were all kinds of fun things to play with. I found Sadi this branch with pine needles still on it that I told her was just like Snow White's broom. She kept our camp well swept! Chase found the perfect walking stick...
We took the kids on a 3 mile hike...looong!! But they did so good. I love this picture of Kyle and Chase walking together and just chatting like they have so much in common, too cute!!Sadi had the best seat. I think every time we went on a walk she wanted to sit on Daddy. And every time her little head just bobbed and swayed and then...out like a light!!!

I think we all had a great time (except poor Daddy's neck!) and we are excited to go again soon!

A fish tale...

Besides it being Chase's last soccer game this weekend, it was also the kids fishing derby. So as soon as his game was over we rushed to Minden to catch a big one!! We used to take Kyle and Kelsey every year to this derby, it is so much fun. We have missed going the last 2 years because they were to old to participate and Chase wasn't old enough. He was so excited, and so was poor Sadi who didn't get to fish. But the proof is in the catch, check em out...Chase had a lot of fun even though he was quite scared of the fish. I am excited we get a second chance to do alot of these fun things again with our younger kids.

Seasons over...

This weekend was Chase's last soccer game. He had a great season and really improved a lot since her started a few months ago. The team also celebrated by going to the local Pizza factory for a party to celebrate. His coach Jeremy had a speech for everyone and as he handed out the trophy's gave each kid a nickname, it was really funny!
He began by saying how this particular little boy was a little quiet, and always came to practice with perfect hair (he always wanted to just mess it up which he did at the party), and his nickname was "the wall" because nothing got past this goalie! Chase was so proud of this and his trophy.
I am really going to miss watching him play....but we are looking forward to the next sport season to start!

Promotion

They made it!! Kelsey and Kyle both graduated middle school. It worked out that we were able to make it to both Promotions. Kelsey's was last night at her school. It was CRAZY windy!! Whoever planned it did not do a very good job. We were all being blown away. It was almost to windy to hear. This is the one and only picture I was able to get as the kids were running back in the school. They actually wore gowns (not sure why gowns and not caps, again maybe poor planning?). She hates this picture, but it's appropriate right, because after all when you think back doesn't it seem like the time BLEW by? We got some better shots later in front of her now late school.
Both of their graduating classes had close to 200 kids. Kelsey was one of only 10 kids to make the A honor roll!
Kyle's promotion was this afternoon, at his soon to be high school (Carson High). We teased him about his Afro that it made it easy to spot him from so far away (not sure what this hair-do is all about) Here they are...class of 2014!
Watch out high school here they come!

Room Makeovers...

After 5 years of having a crib in our house..yes I said 5 it was time to take it down. It is sad to think that crib has been in our home since 2005 when we were awaiting Chase's arrival, to moving it into a pink room waiting for Sadi in 2007. I have been in the process of rearranging rooms and redecorating (somewhat to match the new "big kid" rooms). We gave Sadi Chase's old toddler bed and of course she wanted a Princess room. I found the cutest Princess bedding at Target. She loves it!! I have somewhat started changing the wall murals and plaques to match the new decor. I love the vinyl saying on her wall. (If you can't read it, it says: Someday my prince will come). This is perfect for her because her favorite princess is Snow White and she is ALWAYS singing this to herself, especially at night when she goes to bed you can hear her singing this, it is the cutest thing! We have been searching for a bed for Chase for a long time now and I finally found one I really liked (well okay the Memorial day sale really made me like it more). Funny how small it looked in the furniture store because when the brought it and set it up, it was HUGE!! He definitely has a big boy bed. This picture does not do it justice, but you can see just how high the headboard is, and let's just say it's a looong drop if you roll off. He loves it, and I think we are all a little jealous, it is so beautiful!
It also has a matching dresser with mirror which he loves to stand and talk to himself in front of, it is pretty funny!
We haven't finished decorating either room but it is slowly coming together. Have you ever completely cleaned out a room, got rid of a ton of stuff and what's left doesn't fit back into the original size? How does that happen?!
