Easter Weekend

We had a fun Easter weekend. Chase had a party at school on Friday. They had an Easter egg hunt outside where they collected their finds with these adorable baskets they made out of milk cartons. We later dove into coloring eggs. One dozen just doesn't do it for our crew anymore, it is now one dozen each. The finished products.... Can we say too many eggs? We managed to only stain 2 items of clothes...I guess it was a success. Easter morning was EARLY! Chase was up before six ready to hunt for eggs. I convinced him that we should let the girls sleep until at least 7 before we woke them up (although Sadi woke much before then, at least Kelsey got to sleep till then). Sadi was in heaven with all her Chocolate. She was also excited to get new bubbles and chalk. We only wish the weather had been nice enough to go outside and enjoy any of it....oh well. Chase was annoyed that the bunny had hidden their Easter baskets and he had to look for his. He was insistent that no one touch any of the eggs before he found his basket which was hidden in the laundry closet....Naughty bunny! He was quick to make an excuse for why the bunny must have done that once he found his basket full of goodies, including this new movie.Kelsey was not all awake I think and sort of gave up on finding her basket...She did eventually find it....and was thrilled to find some exciting treats just for her. It was a fun looong day! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Take me out to the ball game!

Yesterday was the first official game of the season! T-ball that is. We finally got our uniform a few hours before game time. Go team...Dodgers!! Chase could not wait to play his first game, I had a few surprises for him before game time. Every ball player needs a good wad to be successful right? So he had to have some chew...gum that is. I'm not sure what he was more excited about at this point, the gum or the game. I am not a fan of gum and kids so this was a real treat.
Finally it was game time. Chase got in some good throws...
Some nice hits...
but most the time he looked like this....
When I asked him his favorite part of the game he told me it was sitting on the bleaches (no I didn't spell that wrong, that is what he said). He of course meant the dugout. He had fun talking to all his new friends. He was the most popular kid because Mom had also given him a bag of sunflower seeds (thought all the kids would have those, apparently only my kid did). Although I am not a fan of baseball, this was one of the best games I have ever been too!

Pizza anyone?

Today was a special day, it was Sadi's first field trip with her preschool class. She has been waiting and waiting for this day to come. The day finally arrived, and we were off to the Pizza factory!! We got to take a tour of the factory(little pizza joint in our town). They took the kids in the big walk in fridge and the freezer, see where they stored the dough. They showed them how they mix the dough with their secret "stuff" in this big mixer..They loved watching how they knead the dough and toss it in the air. They showed them how they add the sauce and toppings to their famous pizzas.

All the kids were pretty much drooling over this process. Look at those faces!
They got to explore and play with their very own pizza dough.
They even got to make their very own personal pizza with whatever toppings they wanted. Sadi knew exactly what to put on hers....lots and lots of pepperoni.
The finished product from the little chef:
This is as close as I got to tasting this delicious pizza. It smelled delicious, and she told me many times it was!
It was a fun trip and I have been craving some pizza ever since!

Fooled ya!

Yesterday was a day Chase had been looking forward to for a long time...fortunately for me by the time it arrived he had forgotten it was April Fools day. I had a few tricks up my sleeve. I had both kids pose for me so I could take their picture (unsuspecting fools!). Matt pretended to sneeze just as I was taking the picture and sprayed them with yellow silly string!! I did not capture the moment but it was PRICELESS!! Sadi was at first paralyzed with disgust before bursting into tears...
Chase was so horrified he immediately started to dry heave. He almost threw up all over the floor and all Matt and I could do is laugh. It was HILARIOUS!! I almost peed my pants.
I should have stopped there, but I couldn't resist. Matt has had this remote control spider (huge spider) in his closet just waiting for this day. We had earlier hid it in Sadi's closet. We told the kids we were going to play outside so they needed to go get their shoes on.
Off they ran to get their shoes and out came the big spider after Sadi. I have never heard a louder scream in my life. She just about climbed the wall to get away from it. Again we fell on the floor laughing.
It wasn't all bad tricks, later that night I told the kids we were going to chuck-e-cheese's for dinner (okay in hindsight I should have said we were going somewhere less fun), BUT we ended up at the movie theater. I took them to see HOP. For one final trick I told them when I brought them their popcorn and soda that all the candy they had was these Reece's Sneezes: Bits o' Boogers in an icky sticky shell (I had previously made these and secretly snuck them in). I just covered a movie size box of Reese's pieces with this label. Sadi didn't care what they were she dug into them and devoured the whole box! Chase was not going to try it no matter what (can't blame him after his gaging incident), but decided to give just one a try. He was excited they tasted like peanut butter m&m's and was glad it was finally a good trick! It was a cute movie and a fun day!
