Totally Worth it..

So, people have asked me many, many times how I could leave my kids for 39 days to work at the Super Bowl(And in all honesty I asked myself many, many times while I was there how I could leave my kids for that long).  Well, my answer just came....
Oh yeah...totally worth it!!  Hope you all get your checks soon too!

Day of Love

Valentines day crept up like a speeding train this year.  I always try to do something extra special for Matt and the kids but being that I had only arrived home a few days prior I feel I didn't give it as much thought as I wanted.  I threw together some valentines for the kids classes which turned out super cute, and were a huge hit at school.  I simply took some valentines suckers and made lips and mustaches with foam and attached to each stick.  The boys at Chase's school loved these!!
When you suck on the sucker it makes you look like you have a mustache/lips.  Sadi couldn't wait to model hers for me.
I spent the day at both kids schools helping out at class parties.  I gave each of the kids a valentine bag with goodies in that morning.  Kelsey was thrilled to get the new Breaking Dawn movie.  Chase thought it wasn't quite as funny when his bag had some Valentine Undies with hearts all over them inside and no one else's did.  What can I say, I couldn't resist when I saw them.  Don't worry he wasn't too mad not to wear them..and he thought it was funny when Sadi asked what he got and he pulled down the back of his pants to show her and she was completly disgusted.  Usually I plan a fun dinner but again just getting back into the groove of being home I raided the freezer and  came up with a frozen pizza...but made it into a heart pizza!!
Matt had a long day of school so I went and picked up a late dinner for us of Chinese food.  The kids left us alone while they watched a movie and OD'd on chocolate.  Again late planning on my part meant a fast valentine for Matt as well.  Didn't really know what to get him so I bought a box of chocoaltes and filled it with his favorite.....
I was happy to take care of the chocolate inside (since he is not a big chocolate fan), so it was a win-win.  Kelsey and the kids made us the cutest valentine.  Reads: From the bottom of our hearts (handprints), to the tips of our toes...We love you.

Oh how I love these sweet valentines I have!
Hope you all had a special day with the ones you love.

First Lost Tooth!

It FINALLY happened!! Chase joined the hole in the mouth club.  He had called me while I was in Indy to tell me he cracked his tooth.  After I had a total panick Matt explained that his tooth was wiggly not really cracked(I guess it sounded like it was cracking to him).  I was so sad that I was going to miss out on this first I told him not to wiggle it till I got home.  He told me not to worry that even if it fell out he would hide it from the tooth fairy until I got home....such a sweet boy.  When I got home and saw his big boy tooth moving in fast behind the baby one I knew it was time to rip that baby out.  Matt did a good job tricking us all into believing he wasn't really going to pull it until he was ready...one rip and out if flew.
This was one excited kid to go to sleep.  Since I didn't have time to make him his own tooth fairy pillow, Kelsey let him borrow hers I had made her when she was little.  Chase had the best idea to leave it on his dresser so the fairy didn't wake him...clever!
In the morning we were all excited to see that the tooth fairy left him a golden dollar!
I am pretty sure tooth number 2 is not far behind...welcome to the club Chase!!

Highlights

Is it weird that Indianapolis feels like it was forever ago?  For me biggest highlight was seeing friends I really only get to see once a year.  This year was a lot of long busy days, and I found out how evident that was when I uploaded my pictures and found there was only about 10.  I didn't even get any pictures with those friends I was talking about.  But there were a few other highlights I want to remember.  This year we stayed right in the middle of downtown Indy where everything was happening.  This is looking down the street from our hotel at what if famously known as Monument Circle.
The week leading up to Superbowl the streets were shut down and they had a Superbowl village there where they had all kinds of things going on all night.  There were outdoor concerts (I did get to see Bret Michael's), you could zip line down the street, and all kinds of performances.  The weather was perfect, I was prepared for lots of snow but only got to see snow flurries a few days.  One of the coolest things I saw were the race cars they had painted with each of the NFL teams on them that lined the streets.  The Colts was front and center...
And it was parked right next the the Arizona Cardinals (Kyle and Kelsey's favorite teams).  As you can see the streets were packed and we literally had to swim through the crowd to get to our hotel.
At one end of the street they had these huge roman numerals set up that they played football clips  on (pretty cool looking).
Sadly this is the only photo I got inside the stadium (every time I went inside it seemed the field was covered.  They were just painting the XLVI on the turf this day.  I did get to see Madonna practice one evening, I loved the halftime show she put on.
So far out of all the cities I have been to Indianapolis has been my favorite.  I hope another Superbowl is in their future!

Catching up

After being gone 39 days and being home only a week now, I am still trying to catch up.  Catch up on sleep, laundry, cleaning, the kids school and sports, and my much loved DVR (which I have yet to sit down and watch one show!).  It was a long time to be gone...bear with me as I am still catching up.
