Carving Fun

This weekend we carved our jack-o-lanterns. The kids did alot better this year which meant less carving for me. Even Sadi dug in to her oh so tiny pumpkin. She was very specific about what her pumpkin should look like. He needed 3 triangles and a smile.

Chase was thrilled that he could draw his very own face and help carve it out this year.Kyle and Kelsey took hours (not exaggerating) to carve their masterpieces. Kyle carved out Mario's head(kinda hard to tell in the photo. And Kelsey chose a bat with BOO written below. My favorite part is lighting them up! I am hoping they last through Halloween, I've seen quite a few smashed pumpkins on the road...Boo!

Family Time

It's always fun when family comes to visit and this past weekend was so fun having my sister and niece come out for the weekend. We had to have a purse party while they were here. We also picked up a new purse for ourselves.Chase and Sadi had lots of fun, including painting their nails! Before you say what was I thinking, it is clear polish that glows in the dark. Chase made sure to tell me not to show this picture to Dad even though he couldn't see the nail polish. They had lots of fun that night looking at their new glow in the dark fingers.Of course we played games, and Aunt Susan brought some really fun Halloween games to play. The kids used these plastic ping pong eyeballs to see who could bounce the most into a goblet. We also had a nice dinner out with family and friends. This was actually Susan's anniversary night so we had to celebrate. Poor Sadi wasn't feeling to great and actually fell asleep during dinner. Tori and Kelsey were given menus in another language and thought this was just a fancy restaurant and that everyone's was in Spanish so just ordered something they thought would be on the menu..ha ha ha! Next time we go to a fancy restaurant Kelsey and Tori remember "pinkie's up!" (Spongebob), because the higher the pinkie the fancier you are.We went to Virginia City and walked around. It was a beautiful day but lots of bees out!The last night we had a girls night out and went shopping and to the movies. It was so much fun having them come out and can't wait for the next visit!

First Performance

Sadi has been doing dance for a little over a year now, but today she had her first performance. They preformed at the Sierra Place Retirement home. She did really well, and the audience adored them. This was a good test run for the big upcoming show in December where she will be preforming at the Reno Bighorns halftime show! We are so proud of our little dancer.

We snort do you?

It's that time of year...time for flu shots!! Or if your like us time to "snort". Whoever invented the flu mist....genius! We only had one mishap, poor Chase had a rough nurse who inadvertently (I hope) shoved the syringe a little to far and gave the poor kid a bloody nose. He says next year he's getting the shot. Hope your all prepared for the flu season, if not give it a snort!

An apple a day

This week we planned to take the kids to Virginia City to buy some caramel apples but then I decided we would try making our own (made it more fun for the kids I think). They had a fun time decorating their apples... But even more fun was eating them...

An apple a day...well if it looks like these your in trouble. They were delicious!!

Pick of the Patch!

This weekend I took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch out in Gardnerville. Last year we went later in the season and all the perfect pumpkins were taken already, so I decided we would go opening weekend to get the best pickin! It had been beautiful all week and then hellooo wind! We started out at the petting area. Kelsey had fun feeding the goats (until one literally jumped on her). Although she didn't find it funny, I thought it was hilarious! Wish I had a picture of it though.Chase and Sadi were not as brave as last year and were content to watch from the hay bails. After a bit they found some brushes to groom the miniature horses with and decided this guy need some TLC. We also got up close and personal with the pigs. Had to pick who we thought would win at the pig races. This is Oreo, he was favored to win.As they came barreling down the raceway it was clear Oreo was not going to win, however the one who looks like he is in last place (Bacon) pulled through and won, beating out Pumpkin and Spooky as well as Oreo. The girls really had fun roping on the ranch, and Chase loved ridding (even if the horse didn't move). We also spent quite a bit of time in the corn maze. The corn was HUGE this year! It had to be over 10 feet high easily. This year the maze was carved out in the shape of Nevada with all the major cities. They gave those who wanted a challenge of finding all the cities within the maze and you had to bring back the answers for a prize. I love how it was also educational. As every year in the past, we had the same guide... To end the day we headed to the acres and acres of pumpkins to pick the best pumpkins. A bit harder to choose this year because there were sooo many. Sadi wasted no time and picked the first one she saw...Chase took his time and finally decided on one that was still a bit green. Kelsey finally decided on this big guy...It was a good picking day!
