I'm a big girl!

Finally Sadi has reached 20 pounds! At 19 months now she can have her car seat facing forward. She was so cute the first time I put her in she just giggled like I made a mistake. Now she talks non-stop in the car. My favorite is every time we back out of the driveway she yells at Matt (never when I'm driving-I must be a better driver) when we hit the dip to "BE CAREFUL"! What a cute backseat driver!

Movie for $1

So after hearing how great Red box is I decided to give it a try, I was a little skeptical thinking it had to be to good to be true. On Tuesday we were at Target and I was looking for Bolt, they didn't have it for some reason. Matt told me he saw it at Smith's in the Red box. I thought there was no way we could get a new release for just $1 and most likely it would be out of stock. Lucky us it was there!! Honestly it was faster than waiting in line at Hollywood Video. I am sold, I may never rent a $4 movie again. Thank you Susan for telling me about it!!

Chasing away the winter blues..

In an attempt to get out of the house and do something fun now that the weather is cold again I decided it would be fun to take the kids to the Children's Museum in Carson City. I had heard it was fun and Matt had the day off so he was able to go with us. I have been to the children's museum in Utah and remembered it being so much fun taking Kelsey. Ours here in Nevada.......not even close to the same to say the least. Don't get me wrong, the concept of the whole museum is amazing..here is Sadi piloting the NASA spaceship. What you don't see is that it's broken along with almost everything in this place!!
Chase is here in the jail cell of the sheriff's office (one of the few things that works hard to break a steel door I guess).

Matt even tried out the climbing wall. I guess I half suspected it would be lame when I asked when we arrived where we could go and the old lady running it said oh anywhere they really can't do any harm.

I took alot of pictures but most of them are of the kids playing with broken crap. I took this picture to remind me of why I will most likely never go there again. This is the floor piano...notice it is taped together with a cord hanging across it oh and the best part besides NOT WORKING the outlet is totally exposed with no outlet cover!!! Mind you this is a children's museum geared toward children. Sadi really wanted to stick something in there. After that outing I felt ripped off and like I needed a shower.
To bribe the kids to leave we tempted them with McDonald's for lunch. Chase must have really built up an appetite. He wanted a cheeseburger but Matt bought him a double cheeseburger, he not only finished it in record time he said he wanted another one. In laughing I thought why not let him try right? He can't possibly really want another one....this is what was left of the second..
Can you believe it? A happy meal will never satisfy this kid!!!

Vegas Vacation

Well, Matt and I are back home from our week long vacation in Vegas. It was so much fun! This is the first "date" we have had together in like 2 and a half years. Now some of you may be thinking yeah right! It is totally true, we have not so much as went to the grocery store alone without kids in that long. It was a long needed getaway for both of us. Weird how you can be busy non-stop all day and still feel like you relaxed. We got to Vegas pretty early and right away had to put on shorts and t-shirts because it was in the 80's. Soooo nice!! Here is the strip at night, Yes, I know it is blurry and out of focus, but that is true of Vegas, it never sleeps and never holds still. The first part of the week we spent in the heart of the strip at the Excalibur. This is one of only 2 photos of us together (scary to ask weird people to take you picture so we took it our self).

The first couple of days we spent seeing everything!! We walked and walked and walked!!! I have to say the Paris casino is my favorite. Matt could not resist as we were there telling me "See I told you I would take you to Paris one day...here we are!!"

Matt's favorite (I think, he kept changing his mind) the New York casino. It is pretty spectacular, I love the statue of liberty.

Another favorite is Treasure Island, we never did make it there at the right time to see the show they put on. I heard it is good though.

While shopping in Cesar's we saw this lifelike of Yoda, I had to take a picture for Chase to tell him we saw Yoda..he thought that was awesome!!!

One of the funnest things we did there was seeing the Mentalist (he is pretty famous, been on all kinds of shows). No, I did not ask to go on stage but somehow got picked anyway. Here is Matt's best photography of me on stage....

After the show we got a better picture.

The last night before we went home we went down to Fremont Street and watched the light show they have there. It is really cool, they play music and have this like mile long dome above all the shops there that has different light shows.

We really had the best time, laughed alot together and just fell more in love with each other. It was funny as we pulled into the driveway of our house Matt looked at me and said "See ya again in 2 years".

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for making it all possible, Chase is missing you already!

JINXED

Ever said something and then wished you hadn't because the opposite happens? It seems like I have had alot just this month, it seems not to be a lucky month for me. A few days ago....the blow dryer (if you read my other post you will know what I am talking about) I have had for soo long and was bragging about stopped working. Yup it is dead!! Never had a problem with it until I said something about it. That is the first incident I can think of. Next I was commenting to Matt how I was so proud of Kelsey, she has gotten herself up for school every day no problem, never been late......well THE VERY NEXT DAY she over slept, I was still sleeping as I never worry because she has been so responsible. She had 10 minutes to get ready and missed the bus so I had to drive her to school. THEN, oh yes there is more. You all should know about the camping trip that Matt has been planning (again from other post). And you should know that I had decided to let him do all the planning. WELL, I had told him 2 weeks ago that he should book the camping sites or they would be gone. I decided I was not going to remind him over and over because he wanted to be in charge. I don't know how many times I heard him on the phone telling someone "oh I am going to book those sites today". A few days later he would be telling someone else "I need to book those sites". Sure enough....last night I heard him on the computer..he is saying the sites are gone!!!! Okay I had to hold in my laughter at this point. I really wanted to say I told you so, but I bit my tongue and said nothing. So, for all you Dennings I just want you to know if we end up camping in our backyard this summer, remember Matt gets all the credit! (I mean I'm sure it had nothing to do with my jinxed week right?)

Moral of my story-I will be saying the opposite of what I really want for awhile and hopefully have better luck!

New favorite song

In search for some new music to download for the kids (I am so tired of listening to Wheels on the bus). That is Sadi's FAVORITE song, she would listen to it over and over as long as you will let her. Chase actually is getting tired of it in the truck he covers his ears when it comes on. Anyway I stumbled onto this singer Bryant Oden and his music. He has some really good songs, this is our new favorite (at least until Sadi chimes in with wheels on the bus). If you don't laugh, something is wrong with you. I think it is to cute!! Take a listen....

Old Reliable

You know the saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it", well in my case I always say why buy a new one if the old one still works. I know this drives Matt crazy because he always wants to get the newest, most updated everything. Well, here is one example of something I have had forever but it is still working...... This is my very first and the only blow dryer I have ever had. I think I was like around 12 when I got it for Christmas one year. This thing has been everywhere...to college, on vacation, and moved several times. Every day I think is this the day this thing is going to blow up? But every day without fail it does the job. I don't even think they make a blow dryer like this anymore but if they do, my next one will be exactly the same! (That is if I ever need one)Ha ha.

Is it cold in here?

What do ya think, is my kid trying to tell me something? I was sitting at the computer doing something when Sadi dug through her drawer and found her winter hat and put it on. She didn't stop there though, the next thing I knew she was taking her socks and putting them on her hands like gloves. Is someone hoping for cold weather?
