Introducing...

Tink! So I did it, I broke down and let Matt get a kitten. I was really only against it because I knew who would end up taking care of it..ME! Although there were promises that I would not have to do anything I think I knew where the responsibility would lie. We have had her a week now and do you think anyone else has bothered to clean out the litter box besides me? Nope! What are you going to do? Look how much she is loved....

Promotion Dance

Last night was the big Promotion Dance for all the 8th graders. The last dance in Middle school. Kelsey was so excited for this dance. Her leadership class was in charge of all the decorations and preparations for it. She looked so cute!

Okay maybe beautiful is a better word. It was so bizarre pulling up to school it was like pulling up to a mini junior prom. I mean every girl was totally decked out in prom attire. A limo pulled up behind me! A little over the top if you ask me (I mean it is only 8th grade). Kelsey had fun meeting up with all her friends and they were ready to dance their butts off!!

It seemed a little more real as I came back to pick her up. The boys were not prepared for these girls it was obvious because they were all wearing jeans and sneakers, funny! The limo I believe was only a ride to the dance (must not have had enough for the ride home). And all the girls had taken off their little 2 inch heels and were whining their feet hurt! Maybe they are not as grown up as they think they are? That being said I am not ready for the high school dances! Yikes!

The Campaign

Things here have been really busy. Soccer is in it's last weeks, along with school coming to an end, promotion, the big school dance, we added a new member to the family(more to come in later posts), and I am in the process of 2 room remodels!! Yikes! On top of all this going on, Kelsey decided to run for freshman class President. They didn't give the kids to much time to campaign...3 days! So we spent many of hours painting posters and making handouts. Kelsey's posters: A little hard to read in the photos but reads: Rock the vote. It has been a long time since I have made any posters, it takes a long time!! She had the cutest handouts:

They read: Don't be an airhead, vote Kelsey for President. 180 handouts...also takes some time. She was so excited! Yesterday was voting, she ran against 4 others. She did not end up winning the election but it was fun to run!! We are so proud of her for shooting high!

Family

This past weekend Grandma and Grandpa Smith came from Utah for a visit. We had a lot of fun visiting an playing games with them. The kids were excited to show them all the new things they could do. It was a fun visit and we miss them already!
