The big ONE

Well, it happened, our baby turned one! August 25, 2008. It was such a fun day for everyone. I had a hard time picking just a few pictures for our blog, so you all get a whole bunch. I figured this way you could all feel like you were there with us. Chase woke up before Sadi and could not wait for her to get up so he could play with her new toy. Here is the first photo of her on her Birthday...check out the morning do!

We bought her this super cute little house...I highly recommend it to anyone with a toddler. It is called the fisher price learning home. It is so cool, we all had fun playing with it, even Kelsey although I'm sure she will deny it. It is two sided (one side like indoors and one like the outdoors). It teaches letters, numbers, time, opposites, colors. It has so many gadgets and all the doors and everything work on it even the light switch. Even Matt was impressed with all it does. This is my favorite picture of her playing. She loved to peek through the doorway. Chase has also been entertained with this non-stop since the moment he saw it.Sadi also received a special phone call from Princess Ariel wishing her a Happy Birthday. It was so cute!!Here's the kids ready to party!!Including the princess in her gown, complete with crown of course. After dinner it was time to open presents, she was so cute and intent on observing every detail. She studied every card and piece of paper. Matt had secretly bought her something special, her very own wishing star to wish on whenever she wants. It is in the Cassiopeia constellation, named after her. What a great Dad!We bought her this adorable purse that comes with fake money, a mirror, lipstick rattle, car keys and of course what every girl needs a bracelet. She is always putting things on her wrist so I knew this would be a sure winner. Yup, the bracelet was the first thing to emerge and she put it right on and continued like it was just natural. She has been wearing it ever since. After presents was cake time!! I had made a large number 1 cake for everyone, and then an individual cake for her to dig into. This is how it went........Happy Birthday to you.....try not to let baby burn her fingers......She wasn't quite sure what to do, she kept opening her mouth waiting for someone to feed it to her, then the first touch......The first taste.......Then........face plant......inhale!!!!!She shoveled it in and literally inhaled it, she had it so far up her nose, it was hilarious!!! Eventually she slowed a little, then a little more and finally....I'm full, with the most devilish grin...We ended the night with a bath....
and sweet kisses goodnight....We love you princess Sadi!

First Day of School

Kelsey's first day of Seventh grade...Wow time is going by quick. She was really nervous and not too sure she was ready to go back to school. She ended up having a great day...no problems opening her locker. Which the locker was the worst part of the day she said, because she got THE BOTTOM LOCKER!!! If you don't know this is huge!! She ended up getting the one teacher she wanted and almost all female teachers which I thought for middle school is a little strange as there are so many male teachers. The nicest part of the first day of school for me, not having to bug her to get up....you know the excitement of the day and wearing your new clothes, a big incentive for kids. Yeah that only lasted one day...Anyway we know she is going to do great in school and are really proud of what a good student she is.

Lazy Days of Summer

Summer is coming to an end way to quickly for all of us. Everyday when I ask Chase what he wants to do, his response has been the same....LET"S GO CAMPING!! I keep giving him excuses why we can't go, and he always has a solution so...I decided to pitch the tent in the backyard last night and let the kids sleep outside. We made s'mores in the microwave which I have never done before but they turned out to be delicious!! Chase does not like them however. Give him chocolate okay, graham crackers okay, marshmallows oh yeah...mix them NO! He did give it a try...too sticky!!
He did however eat about 15 marshmallows straight from the bag though....try to say goodnight after that! It was fun and they had a good time. We are sad to see summer come to an end but look forward to all of the fun things we will get to do next.

Lil Olympian?

So Matt and I have been watching the Olympics every night like it is a religion...well at least the nights he is not working. The kids have been watching as well, paying more attention to it than we thought. Chase is always wanting to play ball, any kind of ball at all, but the last few days he kept asking me if I wanted to play Volleyball. I didn't understand at first, it sounded like "Bolly Ball" but I then started watching the way he threw it. The only way he would even know about volleyball is by watching the Olympics. It is really funny to see. He really knows how to serve and spike, and shockingly is really good at it. Why don't they have volleyball as a kids sport?Getting ready for it.....
And this is the serve...tell me he did not learn this from T.V. Hey I guess some things are more educational than you think!

SHE FINALLY DID IT!!

Sadi is walking!! She can do it, we knew she could, she has been standing and walking around furniture for months. This past week she decided to take off on her own. We are very proud. The smallest steps in life are sometimes the biggest. She is up to 11 steps yeah! She made it before her first birthday. Time goes to fast, I am trying to cherish every moment I have. Take off!!
For some reason the tongue out makes it easier? It is really hard to get a action shot when she goes so fast...well before she falls.
